Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:
-Explain three anti-meanness steps.
-Explain how an Anti-Meanness group or club could organize to keep track of their progress.
-Explain two concepts for helping students work together to deal with bullying.
-Explain the use of an anti-meanness test.
-Explain three methods for helping students cope with doubts.
-Explain some ways to treat all peers with complete respect, especially when they are acting their worst.
-Explain 10 common short-term effects of bullying on the victim.
-Explain the behaviors in the Behavioral Changes checklist.
-Explain five types of bullying victims.
-Explain some examples of the one dimensional victim.
-Explain seven steps in parents objectively assessing their child for signs of bullying behavior.
-Explain what some parents may do to their child because they are so intent on having a popular child.
-Explain six strategies and techniques that can help students who are usually bystanders intervene in a constructive manner.
-Explain what, in general, an effective way can be to make a bully lose focus.
